If you're in Austin this week, be sure and catch Dallas native Hunter Ryan Herdlicka, who played Henrik in the most recent Broadway revival of A Little Night Music, starring with Bernadette Peters, Elaine Stritch, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Angela Lansbury, and was last seen here as Ariel in Dallas Theater Center's The Tempest.
Here is our interview with him for that DTC production.
He's performing a concert called "You Make Me Feel So Young" on Thursday and Friday, Jan. 24 and 25, presented by the Austin Cabaret Theatre, at 8611 N. MoPac Expwy. The concert is a benefit for the Armstrong Community Music School, and will be music directed by Larry Miller. The show is at 8:30 p.m. each night, with an optional dinner at 7 p.m. This is a preview of the same show he'll be doing in New York City later this year.
Songs he'll perfom include "Johanna" and "Not While I'm Around" from Sweeney Todd, "Later" from Night Music, "You Make Me Feel So Young," "Stranger in Paradise," and material from Jerry Herman, Rodgers and Hart and more.
Here's more from the theater:
Hunter Ryan Herdlicka is one of the hottest young Broadway talents of this century! His recent star-turn in A Little Night Music with ACT Alum Elaine Stritch, Bernadette Peters, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Angela Lansbury had critics clamoring for more—so he gave it to them with his acclaimed show at Feinstein’s. Now Hunter makes his Austin Cabaret Theatre debut in his brand new show BEFORE premiering it in NYC in the spring, and you’ll be the first to see it! Plus, a portion of ticket sales go to benefit the Armstrong Community Music School!
