Teatro Dallas has announced its 2012-'13 season, which begins this weekend with its annual Days of the Dead production.
The season continues next year with an import dance/theater piece based on Federico Garcia Lorca's Blood Wedding, and then moves into a series of to-be-announced staged readings, followed by a family production of Mexican folk tales.

Elegant Ghost & The Scar
October 26 - November 17, 2012
Danielle Georgiou comes back to haunt you with a new choreography followed by The Scar by Jorge Díaz. A play about two friends who have been marked with an emotional and physical scar that binds them. A black humor and macabre story of friendship and deceit under a dictatorship. Visual artists will exhibit altars for the departed throughout the run with a special presentation on November 3 featuring delicacies prepared during this ancient tradition.
Cientos de Pájaros te Impiden Andar
February 8 - 9, 2013
An adaptation from Lorca's Blood Wedding by Pati Domenech with María Vidal. A special presentation from Spain, performed in Spanish with English synopsis. An interdisciplinary work of song, flamenco, contemporary dance and video.

The Two Compadres
May 2013
The Two Compadres and other Mexican folk tales that will entertain children of all ages and adults young at heart. A wonderful action-driven play that explores greed and its consequences. The devil is an ugly image in the minds of the dishonest but aids the righteous character to accomplish his dream.
Children's Summer Theater Program
For ages 6-14. This five-week workshop addresses all areas of theater.The program culminates with a full production that includes three performances. All three performances are free, allowing the students to explore the vital connection between performer and audience. All children participate in the development of the production (acting, building or painting their set, making props, music, etc) Classes are bilingual; helping to better familiarized the child to either English or Spanish.
