Dallas — The 2015-'16 season for Dallas' PrismCo, the movement theater outfit co-founded by Southern Methodist University alums Jeffrey Colangelo and Katy Tye, has been announced. If you haven't seen a PrismCo show yet, then make plans for one of the shows below. No other group is doing theater quite like this: wordless, heavy on dance, movement and weight-sharing.

The season is heavy on collaboration, as the first show, based on the legend of Persephone, involves another SMU-born group: House Party Theatre. In February, Prism creates a show for a previously announced Cara Mía Theatre Company festival. And in April, PrismCo does a new piece inspired by animals of the African savannah.

Here's the season:

October 31-November 15, 2015

Persephone uses modern dance and shadow work to tell the story of Persephone being taken from her mother Demeter to Hades in the underworld. As the tensions flair between the rulers of these two realms, Persephone must make a difficult choice in order to save the fabric of reality: her newfound love and power in the underworld; or the comforting embrace of her mother and family. Make sure to join us on Persephone’s opening night (October 31) as PrismCo will be collaborating with House Party Theatre to throw a Halloween after party featuring live bands, a costume contest, and a special performance by House Party Theatre

Gog and Magog: Two Demons Trapped in Clown (Working title)

February 20-March 5, 2016

Part of Cara Mía Theater Company's Teatro en Fuga: A Festival of New Works, Gog and Magog is a workshop collaboration between Cara Mia and PrismCo that uses food and kitchenware to explore the relationship between two inept clowns (Gog and Magog) who are trying to cook their way out of hell’s kitchen. Irreverent mayhem ensues.

Location: Latino Cultural Center

2600 Live Oak St, Dallas, TX 75204

The Watering Hole

April 2016

The Watering Hole is a tavern show that uses pool toys and water to release the beast within our performers as they explore the dysfunctional intricacies of bar culture as African savannah animals.

Location: The Green Warehouse

2900 Bataan Street

Dallas, TX, 75212
