DeSoto — The DeSoto Arts Council has announced its first music series in the Corner Theater, called the Uptown/Downtown DeSoto Music Series, playing every Sunday from March 16 to June 8, alternating between jazz and classical music. The jazz series happens on the even-numbered dates, and the classical series on odd-numbered dates. The jazz series is curated by Bill Martin, and the classical one by Gregory Sullivan Isaacs, who will also have the world premiere of his cantata Undelivered performed on May 11.
Isaacs is also the TheaterJones chief classical music and opera critic.
There's free parking in the garage at DeSoto Town Center, and you can enjoy a discount at Tuscany Italian Restaurant in the Civic Center with a ticket to the Uptown/Downtown series. Admission for each concert is $10.
