The third season for the Lexus Broadway Series at AT&T Performing Arts Center has been announced. Three of five shows are relatively new titles, including the Tony award-winning In the Heights, the tour of which was looking like it would pass North Texas by.

Although the musical Hair is not new, this tour is the most recent Broadway revival, which was highly acclaimed; and certainly the hot-topic show is Green Day's American Idiot, a rock extravanganza based on the pop-punk group's award-winning album of the same name.

Jersey Boys, about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, makes a return to Dallas, and Christmastime brings an oft-returning favorite, Les Misérables, although in a new, 25th anniversary staging, with new orchestrations, sets and the absense of the revolving turntable.

Here's the line-up. Looks like they're all here for two weeks, except Jersey Boys, which will run four.

  • Hair, James Rado, Gerome Ragni and Galt MacDermot's rock musical about 1960s counterculture, which opened in 1968, and had an acclaimed revival in 2009 on Broadway. Reportedly there is some nudity in this tour. Sept. 20-Oct. 2, 2011
  • Les Misérables, the popular musical based on the Victor Hugo novel, in a new version. Dec. 20-Jan. 1
  • In the Heights, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Quiara Alegría Hudes' Latin and hip-hop musical about the lives of characters in a Dominican-American section of New York City. March 13-25, 2012
  • American Idiot, the Green Day musical based on their 2004 concept album. May 8-20
  • Jersey Boys, the biographical musical about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. June 12-July 15

Subscriptions are $125-$1,250 (most packages are in the $375-$490 range), and are available by calling 214-880-0202 or visiting
