Dallas — On Thursday, the Dallas Opera made the following announcement regarding the March concert with Spanish opera superstar Plácido Domingo:
"In light of ongoing developments regarding allegations made against Plácido Domingo, The Dallas Opera has decided to cancel the March 11, 2020 gala, in which he was scheduled to perform. Information on future TDO special events will be announced at a later date."
In August, the famed tenor was accused of sexual misconduct by several women. Today, the Associated Press released a story stating that 11 more allegations have been made, including from Angela Turner Wilson, a soprano who is on the faculty at Texas Christian University. Several concert and other engagements by Domingo had already been canceled.
