Plano — TheaterJones (and our new non-profit umbrella organization Metropolitan Arts Media) is proud to announce that we're partnering with Brick Road Theatre to present the first WIT Festival: celebrating women in theatre, July 16-21.

The festival happens at the Courtyard Theatre in Plano (except for July 19, which is at the Margo Jones Theatre in Fair Park), with performances, workshops and panel discussions each day. All events are open to the public.

Additional information on the panel participants and Saturday’s workshops will be coming soon, and will include such theatre veterans as Emily Scott Banks, Cheryl Allison, Jessica Cavanagh, Wendy Welch, Cara Statham Serber, Linda Leonard, and more.

Below is the schedule of performances and panels. Performers include Sherry Jo Ward, Flexible Grey Theatre Company, Imprint Theatreworks, and local cabaret stars Sheran Goodspeed Keyton and Jodi Crawford Wright. Topics of the panels include the actor-playwright, LGBTQ+ issues, women of color, perspectives in theatre and "surviving the highs and lows of a life in theatre."

Please join us as we discuss and explore issues and challenges women face in the world of theatre and the arts, as well as celebrate the talent, strength, and wisdom these women share with our community throughout the year.

Tickets are $10 per weeknight, $15 individual for Saturday, or $40 for weeks pass to all events.
