Richardson — If you add up the Tonys and other awards won by Chita Rivera and Texas native Tommy Tune, well, that's a lot of trophies. You can see the Broadway legends performing together when they bring their show Two for the Road to the Eisemann Center in Richardson on Sept. 22.

Eisemann Center Presents Chita and Tune: Two for the Road at the Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Drive in Richardson, Texas on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 8:00 pm. Chita & Tune: Two For The Road is a unique concert event that pairs two of Broadway’s most celebrated legends. Chita Rivera and Tommy Tune collectively have won 12 Tony Awards and this iconic Broadway coupling is guaranteed to be the centerpiece of the Eisemann Center’s 15th Anniversary celebration.
Chita Rivera is an iconic dancer, singer and actress known for her Tony Award-winning work in The Rink and Kiss of the Spider Woman. Over the decades, she's starred in an array of other musicals like West Side Story, Sweet Charity andChicago. Born on January 23, 1933 in Washington, D.C., Chita Rivera went on to train at the School of American Ballet before becoming one of Broadway's most beloved stars. She garnered major attention for her role as Anita in 1957’s West Side Story, and earned her first Tony nomination for her role in 1960’s Bye Bye Birdie. Having won Tony Awards for her work in The Rink and Kiss of the Spider Woman among additional nominations and accolades, Rivera is a preeminent figure of the stage who’s also appeared in film and television.
Tommy Tune is one of the country’s most prolific performer/director/choreographers and is celebrating his golden decade on the great American stage. He has received 10 Tony Awards, which includes the 2015 Tony for Life Achievement in the Theatre, The National Medal of Arts, eight Drama Desk Awards, three Astaire Awards, and multiple Life Time Achievement Awards including the Society of Directors and the Choreographers’ George Abbott Award.
A native Texan, Mr. Tune began his career as a dancer in the Broadway shows Baker Street, A Joyful Noise and How Now Dow Jones. He has received Tony Awards for The Will Rogers Follies (Direction and Choreography), Grand Hotel (Direction and Choreography), My One and Only (Actor in a Musical and Choreography) Nine (Direction), A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine (Choreography) and Seesaw (Featured Actor in a Musical). Tune received two Tony nominations (Direction and Choreography) for The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.
