Dallas — We have tickets to give away for the Turtle Creek Chorale's Heroes concert at Dallas City Performance Hall. Performances are 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday (March 31-April 2), and we have tickets for the Thursday and Friday performances.
The performance is a salute to the heroes in our lives and our communities. Those that have always been there, those that have changed the world and those that make a difference. For the first half, TCC will present musical “awards” to the people and organizations that have made our community what it is today. For the second half of the concert, we’ll present Tyler’s Suite honoring the memory of Tyler Clementi. The suite features songs written by Mark Adamo, Ann Hampton Callaway, Craig Carnelia, John Corigliano, Stephen Flaherty, Nolan Gasser, Jake Heggie, Lance Horne, and Stephen Schwartz.
Among the guest performers is Bruce Wood Dance Project.
You can read more about Tyler's Suite in our story here, which has interviews with Schwartz, Heggie and Callaway. We also interviewed to TCC members, Robert Preston and Terry Wolfe, about their own experiences with coming out, bullying and the power of music.
To be entered for the giveaway, email firstname.lastname@example.org with TCC HEROES in the subject line, and in the body of the email, include your name, phone, best email contact and address. Also include the performance you'd like to attend (March 31 or April 1). The deadline to submit an email is noon Thursday, March 31, but we'll start notifying winners Thursday morning.
TheaterJones staffers, contributors and their families are not eligible to play.
