published Thursday, January 21, 2016

Addison — For today's giveaway we have several pairs of tickets for WaterTower Theatre's production of The Lord of the Flies, adapted from the William Golding novel by Nigel Williams, and directed by Kelsey Leigh Ervi. The production is in previews this weekend and opens Monday, Jan. 25. The tickets we have available are for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27 and Thursday, Jan. 28; and 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29.

In case you don't remember the story, a quick refresher: When a group of schoolboys survives a catastrophic plane crash, what starts as a desert island adventure quickly escalates into a struggle for survival. When the group splits into opposing tribes, one that strives for civility and another that delights in savage violence, the battle escalates into a dangerous, frightening climax. Based on the groundbreaking 1954 novel, this gripping classic looks into the darker side of human nature where its civilization vs. savagery and the mob vs. morality.

The production stars Anthony Fortino, Henry Greenberg, and Matthew Minor.

To be entered for the giveaway, email with WTT LORD OF THE FLIES in the subject line, and in the body of the email, include your name, phone, best email contact and address. Also include the performance you'd like to attend (Jan. 27, 28 or 29). The deadline to submit an email is 11:55 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25. We'll notify the winners on Tuesday morning.
