Dallas — James Hart, director of Arts Entrepreneurship at Southern Methodist University's Meadows School of the Arts, is holding a workshop to teach entrepreneurial skills for artists and creatives, and TheaterJones is hosting the event. It will be 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15 at the Common Desk, 2919 Commerce St. in Deep Ellum.

Here is what you can expect from the workshop:
- Engaging in the ideation (business brainstorming) process
- Developing business models with the Business Model Canvas
- Identifying multiple revenue drivers
- Exploring various legal structures
Those who participate will have opportunity to come away with possible new business ideas, revenue streams, an understanding of how the various puzzle pieces of launching a business fit together and how they can be altered. Those participating will have opportunity to gain multiple points of feedback from both the instructor and those other students participating and finally, students will gain information as to what legal structures are available for their business concepts and what he plusses and minuses of each may be.
Water, coffee and some snacks will be provided.
