Dallas — Noted local director and theatermaker Matt Tomlanovich was tragically infected by an MRSA infection earlier this year. On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (Aug. 21-23), there will be a benefit to raise money for Matt’s treatment.
Helping Hands and Hyena Haikus: A Benefit for Matt Tomlanovich happens at his theatrical home, the Margo Jones Theatre at 1121 First Ave. in Fair Park, beginning at 8 p.m. each night. When you come into the Fair Park gates, tell them you're going to the Magnolia Lounge, and parking is free.
Wednesday is a gala event with live music. Thursday will feature an evening of one-act performances with work by Justin Locklear, Eric Devlin, Keith Price, Steven Young, Grace Keller Scotch, and TheaterJones' Kris Noteboom. Friday night is a variety show-format of performances. All shows are rated PG (or thereabouts).
The events should be a lot of fun, but the most important thing is raising money to help support Matt and his family. And you can do that without attending (though we’d still love to have you).

Matt has been paralyzed in most of his body from the infection. His rehab will be arduous, non-stop and expensive. Your donations are greatly appreciated as we try to lift up one of the bright stars of our local theater community.
