Here's the official release from Fort Worth Opera:
FORT WORTH, TX – Following the major success of its 2013 performance, Fort Worth Opera (FWOpera) will once again bring its popular “pop-up” style concert event, Opera Shots, to The Foundry in Dallas on Friday, March 29, 2014 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Taking place only a couple of short weeks before the opening of the 2014 FWOpera season, the company will kick off the Festival fun with an evening of not-to-be-missed, al fresco entertainment. In the comfort of The Foundry’s relaxed backyard atmosphere, guests can kick-back and enjoy performances by FWOpera’s Studio Artists and members of the FWOpera chorus with an ice cold drink and something to eat from The Foundry’s critically praised sister restaurant Chicken Scratch. Attendees will also be treated to a few surprise appearances from the stars of the 2014 FWOpera Festival productions The Pearl Fishers and Così fan tutte.
Opera Shots has gained a following among “in-the-know” entertainment seekers throughout the metroplex as a must-see evening of unconventional entertainment and now attracts crowds of hundreds of fans eager to experience classical music in this unique way. Brushing off the stereotypes of the genre, this captivating free event proves that opera is accessible and fun by engaging audiences in the comfortable social environments of some of DFW’s hottest bars. In addition to the performances, event prizes will be given away throughout the night. There’s a little something for everyone at Opera Shots—see you there. (In the event of inclement weather, the event will be moved inside).
