Dallas — This edition of Gregorian Rants is a conversation with Carrie Ellen Adamian, who is The Dallas Opera’s Director of Marketing. Today, the exhibit “The Fabric of Opera” opens at NorthPark Center, near Neiman Marcus. It’s a spectacular display of the costumes designed for TDO’s four world premieres that have opened in the 10 years since the Winspear Opera House opened: Jake Heggie's Moby-Dick (2010) and Great Scott (2015), Joby Talbot's Everest (2015), and Mark Adamo's Becoming Santa Claus (2015). The outfits are displayed on mannequins posed in recreations of scenes from the productions. The exhibit runs through Nov. 6 and is free and open to the public. Opening night is 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16.
If you have ever wondered what opera costumes look like up close, this is your chance.
