In our quest to provide more audio and video content on TheaterJones, we're beginning with a new podcast by local pianist Jonathan Tsay, called Between the Barlines. Tsay has performed recitals for international organizations, including in Taiwan and Canada, as well as for local outfits Fine Arts Chamber Players and The Cliburn, where he works with classroom outreach. He also runs the chamber music series Ensemble75, which begins its 2017-18 season on Sept. 30.
He talks more about himself and the podcast in this introduction:
For the second episode of Between the Barlines, Tsay talks with Striling Trent, the associate principal second violin of the Kansas City Symphony Orchestra, who is also a longtime friend of Tsay. At 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, Tsay's Ensemble75 opens its season with a performance called Double Treble, featuring Tsay, Trent and violinist Chloe Trevor. They'll perform works by Handel, Chopin, Prokofiev, Kreisler, Rozsa, Moszkowski.
» Between the Barlines will appear twice monthly on TheaterJones.com. You can also listen to the podcast on our SoundCloud page, and look for it on iTunes soon.
