Two golden phonograph records containing images and audio from Earth were launched into space in 1977 in the hopes that they may one day reach extraterrestrial life. It was a message in a bottle sent off into the cosmos. In the year 4040, one of the Voyager Golden Records reaches a dying planet, and its inhabitants head out to find where it came from: Earth. What will our planet look like in 2000 years? And if all that survived of our modern civilization were a handful of songs and photos stored on a golden record, what would someone make of how we lived, and of what we considered to be most important? What will be our legacy?
