¡Felabration Dallas! takes on Black Music Month with a spectacular celebration of famed Afrobeat Star Fela Kuti! This 3 night event will be filled with Fela’s finest musical moments, as Afrobeat’s new emerging artists explore how music crosses cultural and political barriers. There will be music, there will be dance, there will be life!
ABOUT IV AMENTI: Iv Amenti is a Creative Social Practitioner in the city of Dallas for more than 15 years. As a professional in the performing arts, she partners with communities to create storytelling opportunities using various artistic mediums. She prides herself in presenting the performing arts as a platform for social commentary and community engagement in a way that creates voice and identity for communities. She studied theater at the University of Texas at Arlington and is an AmeriCorps alumni who received intensive service training on how to enter into communities, administer asset mapping, and build on those assets in a way that empowers low-income or underserved neighborhoods. Through arts and service she has developed a sustainable practice in creative social engineering
