The Cliburn is proud to welcome Lawrence Brownlee, tenor and Eric Owens, baritone to Cliburn Concerts on Thursday and Friday, September 20 and 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the Kimbell Art Museum Piano Pavilion as part of the Cliburn at the Kimbell: Masters series.
Bass-baritone Eric Owens was dubbed an “American marvel” by the Chicago Sun-Times; Lawrence Brownlee, returning to the Kimbell after a phenomenal Cliburn Concerts debut in 2015, has been hailed as “one of the world’s leading bel canto tenors” by the Associated Press. Separately they have appeared at nearly every major opera house and with the world’s leading orchestras. Together in recital, they are an absolutely unforgettable powerhouse.
For their Fort Worth performances, Brownlee and Owens will perform together and solo from a selection of arias by Mozart, Verdi, Bizet, Gounod, and Donizetti, including selections from La Nozze di Figaro and Ernani, on the first half of the program; and various traditional spirituals, American popular songs, and gospel favorites on the second. Accompanied by Craig Terry on the piano.
