Join us Saturday afternoon for the first performance of the 2017-2018 season. The program begins at 3 p.m. with seating in the Horchow Auditorium opening at 2:30. As always, our concerts are #FreeForAll, and general admission to the Dallas Museum of Art is free.
The program opens with DSO Associate Concertmaster Eunice Keemleading Richard Strauss’ String Sextet from Capriccio, Op. 85, followed by Piazzolla’s Le Grand Tango for Violin and Piano. The performance concludes with the seldom-heard Quintet for Piano and Strings in E Major, Op. 2 by George Szell, best known as the Cleveland Orchestra music director (1946-70).
Joining Ms. Keem are Aleksandr Snytkin, violin, DSO; Christine Hwang, viola, DSO; Sarah Kienle, viola, Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra; Joseph Kuipers, cello; Nan Zhang, cello, DSO; and Jonathan Tsay, piano.
Something to keep in mind: this is the same afternoon as the TX/OU football game at the Cotton Bowl in Fair Park. If you use the DART rail to get to our concert, plan accordingly.
