The King’s Door is written by Kids Who Care Alumni, students, artistic staff, guest writers and associates including alum David Lanza and for the first time, in collaboration with families served at Cook Children’s. This beautifully told musical will take audience members of all ages into a story that reminds us that when we lose our way, kindness, compassion, and love can open the doors for the journey of a lifetime.
The children who have traveled from other countries to be part of this production, are home hosted by families in Fort Worth and surrounding areas.
The King’s Door is directed by Kids Who Care Executive Director, Deborah Jung and features vocal direction from Pam Adair and choreography from Brittany Jenkins.
Set design is built by award winning set Designer Bob Lavallee. Mr. Lavallee’s credits include an array of set design including: Three Decembers at Fort Worth Opera, Cabaret at Dallas Theatre Center, and TV’s Barney.
The set comes to life with the intricate lighting from Production Director and professional lighting designer Chad Jung. Mr. Jung has designed more than 300 productions for theatre, opera, music and dance. Opera credits include productions for companies including Atlanta Opera, Dallas Opera, Fort Worth Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Opera Tampa, and San Antonio.
