The Tribe invites audiences to the world premiere of Hypochondria by Claire Carson. Hypochondria’ explores what it is to exist simultaneously and in equal measures inside your head and as a (mostly) functioning member of society. And that feeling you feel when you notice a strange mole and it’s probably nothing, but maybe it’s something? And the dark rabbit hole that is WebMD. Among other things. Carson’s off-beat play lives at the intersection of healthcare, health insurance (or lack thereof), young women’s bodies, young women’s voices, everyone’s anxiety, trying to fall in love, and pop music.
Local playwright Claire Carson’s world-premiere of Hypochondria is directed by Jake Nice, starring Holly Settoon,Yusef Brotha Manjani Seevers, Braden Joseph Socia, Abigail Birkett, and Christine Sanders.
