Schiller’s Mary Stuart is a stunning historical drama of political ambition, sexual jealousy and spiritual redemption. Peter Oswald’s thrilling new award-winning version of Schiller's 'Sublime Tragedy' of 1800 pits Mary Queen of Scots against her rival Elizabeth of England. Sweeping in scope and featuring stunning period designs from Susan Cox and Will Turbyne Mary Stuart explores questions of gender, personal freedom and political obligation.
