Matt Lyle, long ordained one of the city’s kings of comedy, is back in The House and reigning over a run of hilarity of epic proportions. Fun House Theatre and Film brings one of Woody Allen’s first works to the stage with God, A Comedy in One Act. Under Lyle’s direction a cast of 20 young actors ranging in age from 8-17 take on this absurdist and existential comedy, frenetically paced and touching on social commentary, philosophical questions and even a bit of the meta-theatrical. Coupled with each performance is a Long Form Improv set from Fun House’s renowned all youth improv troupe, Unicorn Clearance, under the leadership of Jeff Swearingen. A pair of the local comedically gifted, the work of a comic genius and a slew of the funniest comedians of the younger set can only mean one thing. The laughs will be abundantly bestowed in October’s best bet of a comedy event.
