DNCB presents Le Train Bleu, a one-act ballet, in collaboration with Dallas/Ft. Worth artists, Zachary Broadhurst, Danny Skinner and Kennetha Perera. The original ballet, which premiered in June 1927, was choreographed by Bronislava Nijinska for Serge Diaghilev's Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo. Taking place at the fashionable resort of Deauville, the sports-themed storyline incorporates swimmers, tennis players, and golfers and is a study on the wealthy youth of the 1920s. The DMA will offer docent-led tours highlighting related artworks at 2:00 pm between performances. Space on the tours is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis the day of the event.
Three will be a free preview at 3 p.m. June 6 at the Dallas Central Library, Fourth Floor; the full performances are 1 and 3 p.m. June 13 at Dallas Museum of Art.
