MainStreet Musicals/Dallas presents the premiere MainStreet Festival at Uptown Theater in Grand Prairie on April 6, 7, and 8 at 8:00 pm each evening.
The City of Grand Prairie’s Uptown Theatre is proud to bring MainStreet Festival to the Dallas Fort Worth area for the first time. MainStreet Festival will feature three new works in a concert-staged workshop production format that were selected by theatre and film legends John Lithgow and Michael Mayer.
Tickets are $10 General Admission and will be available at the box office one hour prior to each evening’s performance. In addition a $25 Festival Pass for all three shows may be purchased in advance by calling the box office at 972-237- UPTN.
Broadway veteran and President of MainStreet Musicals, Tim Jerome, defines the history and mission of the organization: “In the early 1980s, as a young Broadway actor, I was frustrated with certain realities of the theater market. All too often, good shows in their early developmental stage—readings and showcases—weren’t finding their well-deserved audience. MainStreet Musicals strives to bridge the gap between regional production and Broadway! We intend that new works, written about what is relevant today, can reach regional audiences within a single year versus the estimated five to ten years that it takes to get a show up today.”
