After the success of the “Bur-Less-Q Nutcracker!” the women of the book club have discovered that a show can generate quite a bit of cash so they decided to copy what every major city is doing and mount a Shakespeare play during the summer. They choose Macbeth because they’ve heard that has a small cast and it has several good women’s roles. Dickey, the token male member is given the titular role. Since they know nothing about theatre they hire a director from Dallas who brings along another actor to play all the other male roles. A crisis erupts when on the night of the premiere they discover that the theatre was double booked with the neighboring town’s Tap & Twirl competition, and they only have 40 minutes to present the entire play! Yes, we will do to Macbeth what we’ve done to The Nutcracker. You’ll never think of Shakespeare the same way again.
