Dallas — In an effort to keep audiences (and donors of all levels) engaged, Theatre Three is doing an online Time Warp Challenge on April Fool's Day. All day on April 1, from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., post your own video of you doing the Time Warp from the musical The Rocky Horror Show on the Theatre Three Facebook page. This is, of course, in antici...(SAY IT!)... pation of T3's October production of the Richard O'Brien musical, which is best known for its film version — the biggest cult movie of all time — The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
They want to see you doing the Time Warp "from the safety of your own home. We’re talking homemade costumes, we’re talking getting your pets involved. WHATEVER YOU WANT."
On the company's Facebook page, Artistic Director Jeffrey Schmidt and Associate Artistic Director Christie Vela write: "In all seriousness, the arts are taking a huge hit. We’re doing our best to keep everyone employed, paid and be ready to jump back into production as soon as we’re able. There will be a DONATE button at the bottom of the video on April 1st, and that ain’t no joke. Prep your Rocky costumes, friends. We’ll see you on the 1st of April."
Let's be honest, we could all use some time warping out of this current moment in history.
As a reminder, here's a clip from the movie:
