Cathy Ritchie began reading at age 2 and saw her first Broadway show (The Music Man, starring Bert Parks) at age 5. Recently retired as Acquisitions Librarian for the Dallas Public Library, she's a passionate performing arts-lover and has been reading, and growing teary-eyed at curtain calls, ever since. A proud native Chicagoan raised in New York City, she majored in English at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota and spent her adult years in Minneapolis and central Illinois before coming to Dallas in 2000. Her writing career began with all those childhood holiday/birthday gift thank-you notes, and she has reviewed for the websites of the Dallas Public Library, Theatre Library Association, and the American Library Association’s GLBT Round Table, plus other publications, and has contributed feature articles and Broadway reviews to TheaterJones since 2015. In her spare time, Cathy knits scarves for charity and devoutly wishes she could sing.
