Janice is Coordinator for Humanities, and professor of Humanities and Music at Mountain View College. She earned a Ph.D. in Humanities – Aesthetic Studies from the University of Texas at Dallas, and her B.M. and M.A. in Music (piano performance) from Stephen F. Austin State University. Trained as a classical pianist, her career path veered unexpectedly into musical theater, and then into jazz and cabaret. This path also included composition, scoring, arranging, and vocal coaching actors. She has an extensive background as a musical director working in theatre in Texas and New York. Her résumé includes work in the non-profit arts management sector, and service on several Boards of Directors. She has channeled her love for research and storytelling into working as dramaturge. Janice is a writer of fiction, preferring the short story form.
