Just before World War II, Angelica and Richard, a Navy sailor, meet and fall deeply in love. Years later, her granddaughter Angie, who longs for a good man herself, discovers the passionate letters Angelica received from Richard. Infused with humor and tragedy, the play deftly interweaves the wartime events with Angie's response to their growing love through these letters. Then, as Richard says, "This war changes things," and a strange twist of fate unexpectedly ripples through the lives of the wartime couple and the generations after them. Another world premiere by a Dallas playwright.

Two 11-year-old boys have had a run-in on the playground, and some very bad behavior ensues... by their parents. When two supposedly civilized, supposedly adult middle-class couples meet to discuss their sons’ little dust-up, they raise smugness, pettiness, and meanness to heady new heights of hilarity. You’ll have endless fun repeating their deliciously snarky remarks. After its sold-out run on Broadway, this Tony Award-winning comedy makes its regional debut at the Kalita Humphreys Theater.

CICERONE is a deconstruction of Henry Miller’s infamous novel, Tropic of Cancer, which is a re-accounting of Henry’s Miller’s sordid life in Paris in the 1930’s as an ex-patriot and as a young man who was looking for his voice in writing. In grand OCHRE HOUSE style, gay Paris of the ‘30s explodes on stage with live, original music, dance and riveting scenes of passion and abandon that depict Miller’s “coming to terms” with his wanderlust, his life as a writer and as a lover.

CICERONE begins with Henry Miller (MATTHEW POSEY) as an old man reminiscing about his life as a young man.  The play wrecks back and forth between the older Henry’s romantic stories regaling the past and scenes of his past that depict the true state of his young life in Paris.  Bedbugs, broken zithers, and stinking drains— thwarted love, star-crossed lovers, dysfunctional relationships and the ship of fools that prodded him onto destruction. As Henry puts it in CICERONE, “Love is self-delivered sock in the jaw.”
